Our Story

The Alabama Affordable Housing Association (AAHA) Scholarship Fund, Inc., is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping students from affordable housing communities achieve their educational dreams. The goal of the AAHA Scholarship Fund is to promote the improved quality of life for residents of affordable housing by increasing their educational opportunities. The organization believes that an increased educational level leads to greater self-sufficiency and improved employment opportunities.

For the past 25 years, the AAHA Scholarship Fund has proudly supported students across Alabama by providing financial assistance for higher education. Since our founding in 2000, we have awarded scholarships totaling more than a million dollars in educational funding. These scholarships have empowered students to pursue degrees in nursing, education, engineering, and many other fields that strengthen our communities.

Our scholarships are made possible through generous support from individuals, businesses, and partners in the housing industry who believe, as we do, that education is the foundation for long-term success. As we continue to grow and meet the increasing demand for scholarships, we are reaching out to ask for your support in sustaining this vital mission.

A contribution of any amount will go directly toward helping deserving students access the education they deserve. Whether you choose to give a one-time gift or become a recurring donor, your generosity will make a meaningful impact on the future of our scholarship recipients.

For the 2025–2026 academic year, AAHA awarded scholarships to 59 Alabama students pursuing college or vocational training. Each scholarship provides $3,000 for the academic year, with renewal recipients receiving $4,000 annually.

We are also proud that 22 AAHA recipients have gone on to earn additional scholarships through the National CARH Scholarship Program, receiving $4,000 per year in further assistance. These outstanding students are honored for their achievements at a recognition event in Washington, D.C., representing both Alabama and the strength of our community.

At AAHA, we remain committed to empowering residents with the resources they need to thrive. Thank you for your interest in supporting the AAHA Scholarship Fund.
